Marriage Retreat: United for Life-God’s Design for Marriage

After our recent Church Camp, we were reminded to invest in God and in one another.

One meaningful way for married couples to respond is by intentionally investing in the marriage relationship that God has entrusted to us.

The Family Life Ministry will be organising our first marriage retreat:

United for Life – God’s Design for Marriage

Date: 9–11 August 2026
Venue: St Giles Southkey, Johor Bahru
Cost: $900 per couple
Includes accommodation, meals, retreat materials, and transport.

This retreat is for Christian married couples at different stages of marriage. It is not a counselling retreat, but a time for couples to pause, reconnect, reflect, pray, and renew their commitment before God.

The programme has been specially designed with the needs of our church couples in mind. Over the 3 days, couples will be guided to reflect on:

Day 1: God’s design for marriage and His faithfulness in our marriage journey
Day 2: Brokenness, grace, forgiveness, and reconciliation
Day 3: Building a shared vision and renewing our commitment before God

We are also thankful that Rev Clarence & Aunty Rosalind will be our main facilitators. Having journeyed together in marriage for more than 50 years, they bring with them much wisdom, pastoral experience, and a heart to strengthen marriages in the church.

This retreat is not only for couples who are struggling. It is also for couples who desire to strengthen their marriage, grow deeper in Christ, and continue building a life together according to God’s design.

We warmly encourage married couples to prayerfully consider joining this retreat.

As we invest in God and in one another, may our marriages be strengthened, our families be blessed, and our church be built up in love.

Thanksgiving for Special Offering

We thank God for the offering collected for Missions & Evangelism Sunday. The amount collected was $7,698.35.

Community Prayer Experience (CPE): 40 Days of Prayer

Date: 1 July – 9 August 2026

Starting next Wednesday, 1 July, we are uniting as a church and joining churches across Singapore for 40 Days of Prayer! Here is how you and your family can engage in our Community Prayer Experience (CPE) leading up to National Day:

1. Daily Devotions (For the Whole Family)

• Adults & Youths: We will be praying daily following the love.Singapore materials. The daily devotion link will be sent out every morning via our official SKMC WhatsApp Channel. (Be sure to unmute the channel so you don’t miss a day!)
• Children: Parents, your children will be receiving a special 2-part, 40-day devotional booklet today during Sunday School. This material is designed specifically for you to facilitate with your children, equipping you to build a daily habit of prayer together at home!

2. Weekly Prayer Trios

• Weekly Prayer Pointers: To help guide your trio’s prayer time, weekly pointers will be sent out every Friday (the first one will be sent out on 10 July).
• Register Today: Registration is officially OPEN! Only the Group Leader needs to register on behalf of the trio via Church Center.
• Need a group? Don’t let that stop you! Sign up via Church Center, select the “Help Me Find a Group” option, and our team will personally match you up with two other prayer partners!

3. Day of His Power (DOHP) – Volunteers Needed!

We are thrilled to announce that SKMC is an official hosting church for the nationwide Day of His Power prayer celebration on Friday, 7 August at 8:00 PM.

• We need you! As a hosting church, we need all hands on deck to welcome believers from all over Singapore. We are currently recruiting volunteers to serve as Ushers and Traffic Marshals.
• If you are able to serve our community on this special night, please register via Church Centre

Compass Kids Club Volunteer Recruitment

Compass Kids Club is a bi-weekly Saturday outreach ministry by Compass Ministry for K1 and K2 children and their families in the neighbourhood.
