Local Ministry Staff (Youth Ministry)
As part of the Pastoral Team, the Local Ministry Staff for Youth Ministry will collaborate closely to guide, direct, and cultivate the spiritual growth of the Youth (ages 13-18), facilitating their transformation into fully devoted disciples of Christ.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care, leadership, mentoring and discipleship for the youths
- Collaborate with the relevant pastor(s) and ministry coordinators to plan and execute events, including teaching sessions and fellowship meetings for the Youth Ministry
- Offer administrative support for the ministry, managing regular correspondences to families and volunteers
- Partner with parents to foster a discipling culture, providing support and resources
- Mentor potential leaders to serve in ministries
- Collaborate with other age-level ministries to oversee and facilitate the transition from youth to young adult ministry and the larger church family
- Any other additional or ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge and/or Reporting Officer
Requirements:
Educational Background:
- Relevant theological studies, qualifications, and/or experience in similar capacities
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience
Skills and Competencies:
- Teachable and accountable team player with excellent communication, service, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to teach the Bible and Christian discipleship to youths
- Able to creatively plan and execute programs and events with strong time management and relational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills and adaptable to learning other computer applications
Personal Attributes:
- Keen interest in the well-being and lives of young people
- Passion for growing in theological knowledge and understanding contemporary issues and culture challenging the young people
- Exhibits a good service attitude and enjoys interaction with people at all levels
Availability:
- Willing to work non-traditional schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Local Ministry Staff (Children Ministry)
The Local Ministry Staff for the Children ministry is someone who has a deep passion for children under 12 years old, desiring to see them grow up healthily spiritually. Besides overseeing the weekly children church school in SKMC, the individual shall provide leadership, training and support to church school teachers and volunteers in the children ministry (including children with special needs). The Local Ministry Staff will be part of the Pastoral Team.
Roles & Responsibilities
Spiritual Nurturing Children (including Children with Special Needs)
- Instil Christian values to children, through Christian teachings
- Provide pastoral care and general spiritual support to church school students
- Work with Youth Ministry to manage and transition children from children church school to the youth ministry
- Conduct weekly chapel sessions for Sengkang Methodist Pre-School (SKMP)
Equipping Church School Teachers
- Develop or source learning materials suitable for different age groups
- Plan and review children’s church school curriculum
- Train and motivate church school teachers
- Meet with church school teachers periodically to discuss progress and address concern
- Identify and recommend potential teacher candidates to the church school superintendent
- Lead the church school teachers in organising seasonal events for children
Supporting Parents
- Build relationship, rapport and have regular communication with parents
- Collaborate with Family Life Ministry, to provide Christian Parenting support and resources
- Work with parents on the spiritual growth of children
- Support Congregation Pastor in pastoral care
- Offer opportunities for parents to volunteer their services in Children Ministry
Administration
- Participate in the annual church school’s budget planning with the church school superintendent
- Collaborate with other ministries in implementing the church’s and ministries’ objectives
- Any other additional or ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge and/or Reporting Officer
