Chiang Mai Missions Team
This time, the missions team SKMC is sending continues to serve alongside Hnong Yeang Methodist Church, partnering them in school/hostel events and visiting their church members. The team is going up to the mountains to see the people and church up there, which is a new opportunity.
This team consists of a balance of Young Adults and Adults, and has been a great opportunity for interaction and serving between the generations.
How we can pray:
- To have unity in the team as we serve the people in Chiang Mai .
- To be sensitive to the Lord’s leading as we interact with the locals.
- To have open eyes and ears to see what God is doing in another country.
- Safety as we travel, especially for the 2D1N portion in the mountain.
Phayak Missions Team
Phayak missions team will be travelling to Phayak, Thailand to support the local church through a closed mission trip, providing member care as we come alongside the local leaders in their ministry and community work.
How we can pray:
- Good health, strength, safety and spirit for the mission team.
- Unity and synergy within the team, and effectiveness in our work together.
- Spiritual wisdom and loving service, with agility and flexibility to adapt when the program changes.
- Spiritual preparation of the team for what we are to encounter.
- Meaningful friendships and connections with both local missionaries and the local people.
- Give thanks, for we are blessed to be a blessing to others.
- That the Holy Spirit goes before the team and opens people’s hearts to be receptive to the Gospel.
- Engage, entrust, and enjoy God’s goodness.
Advent & Christmas 2025: Christ Is _______
As we enter the Advent season, we step into a time of waiting, watching, and preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ. Advent reminds us that God meets us in the waiting, with hope, peace, joy, and love, and invites us to look again at who Jesus truly is.
Throughout this season, we’ll reflect on the richness of Christ’s character:
• Jesus, the Prince of Peace
• Jesus, the Lamb of God
• Jesus, the Light of the World
• Jesus, the Living Water
On 21 December, we also celebrate a key moment in our church with our Baptismal, Confirmation and Membership Reception Service, welcoming new believers and members into our community.
On Christmas Day, we rejoice in the birth of the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and the Good Shepherd who knows us and leads us with love on the last Sunday of the year.
We end the season together at our Watchnight Celebration, giving thanks for God’s faithfulness and ending with a joyful countdown to the new year. And for those who want to linger a little longer in fellowship, the church will be open for a simple sleepover — a cosy way to enter 2026 together.
All are welcome to join us this season as we worship, celebrate, and encounter the One who brings peace, light, and life.
