MCS and NCCS Responses on Section 377A
On 21 Aug, during the National Day Rally, the Prime Minister announced the Government’s intention to repeal Section 377A of the Penal Code. The Methodist Church in Singapore has already issued a statement on the matter here and a follow-up to explain our rationale here.
In addition to this, we stand with the response issued by the National Council of Churches in Singapore, which can be found here.
Please continue to keep the Government, Members of Parliament, civil society associations such as advocacy groups, religious organisations, as well as all citizens in prayer. May God grant our leaders the wisdom to legislate laws that promote the common good of our nation.
Pastoral Team Movement
The pastoral team will be away for the Pastoral Team Planning Retreat from 12 – 14 September 2022.
If there is an emergency, you can contact the church office, our lay leaders or Rev Lisa Yu.
Condolences
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Loie Ah Eng, Serene Loie, Lee Kim Siong, James and John Lee on the demise of their beloved mother, mother-in-law, and maternal grandmother, Sister Tan Ah Chan.
Do uphold the family in prayer during this time of bereavement.
SKMC Pastoral CARE-Net
In such a trying time as this, we need to care for one another in Christ even more than ever. We encourage all to join the SKMC Pastoral CARE-Net (a WhatsApp Business Group Chat) to receive messages from the pastoral team. Click here to join.
Pastoral Care
These are troubled times, and the stresses we face are many. If you are in need of pastoral care and counselling, the pastors would love to come alongside you. Please make an appointment with either of the pastors directly via mobile phone or WhatsApp.
