Ohana Ministry

Special needs and caregivers

Ohana Ministry is the disability ministry of Sengkang Methodist Church looking after persons with disabilities (PWDs) of all ages young and old and their families.

The word Ohana is borrowed from the Disney cartoon Lilo and Stitch. It has Hawaiian origins and means family – where no one is left behind or forgotten.

Our vision and hope is to see the church become a caring and inclusive church where persons with disabilities (PWDs) are empowered to participate fully as integral and contributing members of the church, together with their caregivers/families.

We believe that everyone is created in the image of God. Jesus Christ died once and for all and each one of us makes up a part of the body of Christ and has value to contribute.

If you and your family are affected by disability and looking for a suitable church, we welcome you to contact us so that we can get to know you and better understand your needs. We believe that in the Church, everyone has a place to belong.
